The first prot bar looks fine to me. I always use channeling on my monk heroes and it works great, since they always find their way into the middle of the largest nearby mob anyway.

The great things about monk healing spells is they have a low recharge. This means you can have 2-3 healing spells that are easily spammable and leave the rest for energy/prot/utility. There is absolutely no need for six healing spells.
[word of healing][patient spirit] and another heal (ribbon's okay, so is dwayna's kiss and words of comfort] is enough for any monk to heal individual targets just fine. I usually have a hero bring [heal party] also, heroes love to group hug while in the middle of battle.

[watchful healing] is easily one of the worst skills in the game. It only heals if it ends prematurely, which means it has to be stripped somehow in that 10 seconds. badbadbad.

utility is like.. a versatile skill. like channeling/power drain would be a utility skill. also hex/condition removal can be considered a utility.

and a necro/rit is good with healing because with 14 soul reaping, that's 14 energy whenever you kill a monster in PvE (or, every 3 monsters every 15 seconds, or however SR works). Not to mention [signet of lost souls] which heroes make use of very well. They basically are awesome on energy, and can provide good healing [mend body and soul][spirit light], prot [xinrae's weapon][weapon of warding] and big party heals [life][protective was kaolai].

the only thing a n/rt lacks is hex removal, which is why i like to stick to monk heroes when i'm going to be in a hex-heavy area.

edit: xinrae's weapon on the bbcode is outdated, might wanna look it up on wiki

the only thing i have to micro is when i'm running somewhere, because the hero will stop to cast life every so often, so they fall behind a little bit, i usually just disable it while i'm doing that. they're pretty decent on the usage of weapon of warding, too. you also might want to keep death pact signet disabled so you can have them use it at your own discretion.

N/Rt healers are pretty self managing, Unless you decide to give one [[splinter weapon] you really dont have to micromanage at all.. They cast everything at the right time and reapply spirits after they expire.

if you are running 6 heroes and need hex removal, have another necro hero bring this
[build prof=N/Mo pve name="Divert" box soul=10+1+1 prot=12 curse=8][Divert hexes][aegis][protective spirit][Signet of Lost Souls][vocal minority][rip enchantment][envenom enchantments][resurrection signet][/build] you can swap out res sig for your res of choice

Ya, Necros are really the only heroes i use anymore. Sometimes ill bring ele or mez, but only when i need utility or interrupts...
now if they ever add another paragon hero, then oh boy. That will open a whole new door.,

paragon is definitely the ugly duckling of guild wars.. For those who take a brief glance at them, they will seem "imbalanced" and kind of scattered.

For those of those who are more familiar with paragons being "imbalanced" is a good thing. Hence Imbagon or Imbalanced paragon.

Paragons offer chants, refrains, shouts that buff the whole party (good thing about these is they can not be removed by a hostile skill). Paragons can effectively turn the whole party in to pseudo-tanks.
[go for the eyes] is a sick skill for any physical damage dealing party
[save yourselves] is probably the most useful party buff IMO (even though it is a warrior skill, paragons love to use it) like [for great Justice]
[there's nothing to fear] another awesome party damage reduction skill

paragons have great adrenalin skills [focused anger][soldiers fury][signet of aggression][spear of fury] which can be used to fuel offense [merciless spear][blazing spear] can be used for utility[hexbreaker aria][lyric of zeal][song of purification]

They are awesome utility machines [find their weakness][go for the eyes][never give up][anthem of disruption][its just a flesh wound][the power is yours]

paragons have strong heals [signet of synergy][mending refrain][finale of restoration][chorus of restoration][ballad of restoration][aria of restoration]
[we shall return][signet of return] paragon res

And paragons like to make all enemies run around on fire. [burning refrain][anthem of flame][blazing finale][blazing spear][glowing signet] while protecting against burning [they're on fire]

Basically paragons are able to fill the roles of damage, utility, buff, and heal... The thing about paragons, is the more you have on the team, the more powerful your team becomes.
Not to mention that Paragons have 80al which makes them midline tanks

Ya, i would love to play as a paragon but my ele has 15 maxed titles already and i told myself i will only play on my ele until i get GWAMM.
I do have a paragon and he is a lvl 20 survivor (1)... Too bad he looks like a cross dressing hobo. But i will get over it and try to find him some less hideous looking armor.

Necroway is a total blowout in NM, just because enemies die faster so soul reaping is in overdrive.

I h/h everywhere i go, vanquishes, HM missions, Most dungeons. The only time i really need to find a buddy is in a few dungeons and DoA, FoW,

1 more thing... You may hear reference to Rac's build.. Racway is kind of like Sabway cept para stead of necro.
http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...php?t=10254869
check that link, it breaks it down better than i ever could. Im sure that if we had 3 paragon heros, Rac would have another paragon instead of the derv hero in the team.

Id like to make a shout build just for the heck of it. [soldiers fury][for great justice][you move like a dwarf][go for the eyes][finish him] something like that

Pure healing monk is waste: you have 6 skills basically doing same thing when only 2 or 3 max would suffice. Plus, you heal monk can only heal so much and can't slow down damage done to character in order to have enough time to heal.

Your protection monk on the other hand does not have skills to raise health, only to slowdown damage, and he misses very important ones like [Aegis].

What you want is prot/heal hybrid for better performance, just like already discussed n/rt does.

most of the origional monk's bars are redundant. the healer has six skills that do the same thing. 4 skills on the prot monk do almost the same thing. hybrids are better. you dont lose much effectiveness by dropping a few point out of healing or prot. you can easily spec 11 in both attributes which is plenty when you can do everything.

Let's take a look at the first bar. The problem with it is that heroes spam Spirit Bond inconsiderately, and with my experiences using Shield of Regeneration on a hero, they're absolutely terrible with it. You're also missing Aegis, as Zwei pointed out.

I also don't think SoR is up to par for the following reasons: It gives 40 armour, and regeneration for X seconds. It also costs 15 energy, which is absolutely huge for a Monk. Shield of Deflection outstands it as it also blocks at the same time. The regeneration is only a minor attachment. You also have no hex removal, and res on heroes is pretty much a waste outside of Death Pact Signet. The reason res is a waste on heroes is because you either sit there hoping enemies don't jump you while team ressing, and in mid-combat you've got a Monk standing there instead of kiting, healing or protting. 5 seconds is alot of time. Death Pact Signet is only used on my N/Rt because it will also negate any death penalty on a res at a portal.

Now, looking at the second bar... You've got far too many healing skills, and Channeling is a pretty weak skill outside of HA. Channeling puts you in a terrible position which only pressures you more. Hybridise this bar through using search, I'm sure you'll find one somewhere.
